The All-Russian public organization "Federation of Fishing Sports of Russia" was founded in November 2006.

Currently, the FRSR consists of 68 regional fishing federations, one regional branch of the FRSR, one regional public organization, two interregional and one All-Russian organization. 

In total, the activities of the Russian Fishing Federation are carried out in 68 regions of the Russian Federation.

Every year, the number of participants in fishing competitions ranges from 57,000 - 60,000 people annually, of which more than 95% are men and about 5% are women.

The number of regional competitions held annually varies from 2,500 to 2,800.

More than 300 athletes have the title of "Master of Sports of Russia", and 38 have the title of "Master of Sports of Russia of international class".

Sports judges of the "Sports Judge of the All-Russian category" (SSVC) category - 107 people from 32 subjects of the Russian Federation and 325 sports judges of the 1st category in 45 regions.
